Lexington and Concord
The first battle that occurred during the Revolution. 700 British soldiers were going back to Boston when they didn't find any supplies, but they were stopped by 50 Patriots from the town that stalled the army long enough for another group of soldier from surrounding towns to come and chase the British all the way to Boston. 1/3 of the British soldiers were wounded/killed. -
2nd Contential Congress
Most of the people were not set on independence. They devised the Olive Branch Petition in July for a last chance against war. The King later sent German forces to control the colonies. On July 4, 1776 Thomas Jefferson devised a final copy of the Declaration of Independence sending them to war. -

He was a delegate in the Second constitutional convention. He drafted and wrote the Declaration of Independence. He supported freedom and democracy. -
Benjamin Franklin
He was a delegate in the second contential congress. He helped draft the Declaration of Independece. He help negotiate the Treaty of Paris and help create the constitution. -
John Burgoyne
He was the second major general of the British troops during the early parts of the American Revolution. He laters retires because of frustration. -
John Adams
He was elected to go the the first adn second contential congress. He elected Washington as the commander of the whole army, and had a great prescence in the army. He helped draft the Declration of Independece. -
George Washington
He was the head of the Contential army. Having experience in the French and Indian war he leads the troops from a defensive tatics at first to offensive to win the war. -
Bunker Hill
British had 1054 casualties having 226 killed and 828 wounded. The Colonist suffered half the casualties, but they still lost the battle. The patriots had dug out 6 ft. dirtwalls blocking the cannon fire and forcing the British to come into their line of fire.They were winning at first, but they lost because of the overwhelming number of British soldiers and the Patriots lack of ammunition. -

Battle of Long island(Brooklyn)
This Battle starts in New York, but the British surround the colonist with a 3 prong assualt causing the colonist to make a hasty retreat. Washington and his army make a sneaky escape during the middle of the night in the middle of a storm by crossing the Hudson River into New Jersey.They most likely would've lost the war at that battle if they didn't escape. General Howe pushes the army all the way to Valley Forge. -

He was a former Contential army general who was seeking glory and fame by climbing the ranks. His wife's brother a British supporter who offered him bigger fame and flory in Britan if he betrayed the Contential army. He ended up betraying the Contential army -
Battle of Trenton
Washington knows that the British will not fight during the winter because that's how people fought during the era. So he leads a surprise attack on the Hessian soldier by crossing the Delaware River capturing 1,000 of them. He later goes to Princeton and wins another battle. -
Battle of Princeton
Leading after the Battle of Trenton. Washington leads an assault onto the British troops winning the battle. -
Battle of Saratoga
The Patriots use Native American tatics under the command of General Gates and abush the British using riles and guerilla tatics. Colonist end up retreating, but they deal heavy damage to British troops. -
Articles of Confederatoin
Stated that each colony would be free and would be equal with the other colonies getting 1 vote regardless of size, population, or wealth. -
Valley Forge
Washington leads 12,000 troops through the harsh winter. Over the course of time 200 officers leave, 1000 soldiers desert the army, and 3,000 die from hunger and disease. The army was trained by Baron von Stebuen, a Prussian soldier, who turned the army into an aactually fighting force with stratgies which spread throughout the colonies. -

The French agree to fight with the colonist only if they agree to keep their claim on land in the West Indes. -

He was a prusian solider that turned the contential soliders in Valley Forge into actaully soldiers by teaching them tatics. -
Nathanael Greene
He was the Quarter master which was an unfavorable position, but through hard work he gets promoted into one of the major generals of the army and gets his own group and win major battle during the war. -
Taxation of Colonies Act
The British Parliament repeal the Tea Act and the Prohibitory Acts hoping the colonist would stop the war. It says the the British would no longer tax the people.The colonist take no heed because they wanted say in what was happening to them. -
Henry Clinton
He was promoted to be the head of the British army after Howe and Burgoyne retired from the American Revolution. He had thought of the Southern campaign. -
Treaty of Aranjuez 0f 1779
The Spanish joins the Patriots to reclaim Florida. They fight on Frances side. -
Philipsburg Proclamation
The British declared that any slave who had an Patriot owner who revolted and escaped behind the British line would be free. 30,000 slaves did and some of them joined the British army. -
Charles Cornwallis
He played a major part in the second half of the American Revolution. After Howe and Burgoyne retire he was promoted to be in charge of the Southern campign of the American Revolution. -
Capture of Savannah
Clinton’s forces take Savannah and then prepare 10,000 soldiers to invade South Carolina. -
British New Strategy
Lead by Henery Clinton, the British start another campaign in the south capturing teh cash crops states. They then decleare the Philphsberg Proclomation causing riots and fighting within the colony. -

British captures Charleston. -
French sends Troops
Marquis De Lafayette persuades King Louis XVI to send 5,500 soldiers to America. They land in Rhode Island to threaten the British troops in New York. -
King Hill
Nathaneal Green captures King's Mountain in South Carolina and captures 1,000 British soldiers. -

Washington sends Nathaneal Green,who was promoted, to recapture the Carolinas -
Guilford Courthouse
Nathaneal Green fights against British army which leads to a draw because there was no official surrender. British retreat to Yorktown,Virgina. -

Yorktown
Colonists fight against the British troops while the French send their Naval fleet down to the other side of the fort and surround Cornwallis's army forcing the French surrender and the Americans win the revolution. -
Treaty of Paris
Britisan officially recognizes Americas independence and reliquishes claim over the land.American Indians lost 5 millions acres of land. America will take all prewar debts, and British is allowed to trade with America. -
Treaty of Versailles
This officially declared peace wit Britan, France, and Spain. Spain reclaimed Florida and France recieved Tobago. -
The Virginia and New Jersey Plan
The Virginia plan created part of the bicameral branch saying that depending on the population size of a colony they would get a certain amount of people to represent them. The larger it was the larger the number of representatives.
The New Jersey Plan created the second part of teh bicameral branch stating how each colony regardless of its size and population would get two representatives. -
Constitutional Convention
55 delegates came around America to Philadelphia except for Rhode Island. They wanted a strong national authority to protect teh people. The Virginia and New Jersey Plans.The Great Compromise and national government which had te power to raise an army, make laws, acknowledge the existing debt and no state could print their own paper money.
