Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament. It was to every american and they had to pay a tax on every paper they got/used. That would be newspapers, licenses, legal documents, and other things that would have it. The money ollected from all the taxes was used to help the pay of cost of defending and protecting American frontier near the Appalachian Mountains. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a group of civilians were in a riot with the British troops who was sent over to enforce the Townshed Act. Ever since the troops were sent over, the colonist were getting angry at them causing a riot at them. The first person shot and killed at the Boston Massacre was Crispus Attucks. He was used be a slave until he escaped and got a job working with ships and whaling them. The person who shot him was Private Hugh Montgomery. He was a british soldier. -
Boston Tea Party
On Boston Harbor, colonist disguised as Mohawk Indians, boarded three british tea ships and threw tea out in the water. They threw about 350 crates of tea into the ocean. The reason why they did that was becuase tea had a tax on it and the price of the tax was getting hire and people wanted to get rid of the tax on all of the tea out there. The person who led the boston tea party was Samuel Adams. -
The First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress had three main objectives. One, to compose a statement of colonial rights. Two, to identify British parliaments violation of those rights. Three, to provide a plan that would convince Britain to restore those rights. Also, they met at Carpenter's Hall in Philadelphia. All of the colonies except Georgia sent delegates. These were elected by the people, by the colonial legislatures, or by the committees of correspondence of the respective colonies. -
The Second Continental Congress
The members of the Second Continental Congress met at the State House in Philadelphia. When the Revolutionary war had started, things were going badly. The armed forces were disorganized. The Continental Congress created the Continental Army and named George Washington as commander-in-chief. This meeting lasted until the Revolutionary war ended. -
War Starting
The American Revolutionary war mostly started by americans wanting freedom and want no taxes and have nothing do to with the british. Also, it was from other things like the boston tea party, boston massacre, stamp act, and other important things that happend before it. -
The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was a important document that changed American History and will last forever. It was about the freedom and treating everyone equal. It was made by Thomas Jefferson. Thomas also agreed that slavery is aloud but you can't trade slaves over to other people for recources. -
War Ended
The Americans was surrounding the British from all over and the French were surrounding British ships in the ocean. There were 16,000 French and American soldiers closed in on the 8000-man British force. When the British started to lose, they finally gave up on fighting.
