    The Winter at Valley forge

The British army attacked Philadelphia. Unable to defend the state, George Washington led his 12,000
men army to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, in the winter to camp. He did this because the area was close enough to the enemies to keep them in site but away enough to protect his army. As a result of this decision, around 2,000 soldiers died from natural diseases but no battle was fought, instead, this experience made the army stronger to later defeat the British.
