French and Indian War
The French and Indian war began in 1754 and ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. But the whole issue started due to territorial issues. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was the act in which the British taxed many things such as newspaper, pamphlets, legal documents, dice, and even playing cards. The act was created in order to fund the 10,000 soldiers that still remained in North America, the act sparked immediate reaction and was later lifted. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre started off as a argument that later sparked a riot outside of the House of Customs. Those events later led to 9 British soldiers shooting into a crowd of 300 to 400 people leaving many injured or even killed. -
Boston Tea Party
It was an American political protest led by the sons of liberty in Boston Massachusetts. Infuriated by the taxing of tea from they took to the harbor and dumped many imports of tea into the harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
These were acts used as a form of punishment against the colonists as a result of the Boston Tea Party. They were four acts in total placed by the British in hopes of keeping Americans under control but instead had an opposite effect when people instead joined the rebels. -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
With tensions being high with the 13 colonies and British authorities. the colonists started to hide weapons and ammo to go against the British, and it worked because in 1738 they won their freedom. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was a battle that took place in Charleston during the early stages of the Revolutionary war. The battle resulted with the Americans at loss which led to the British with boosted confidence. -
Declaration of Independence
The founding document was a symbol of the birth of a new country and Separation of the 13 colonies from Britain. The document was made official in Independence Hall in Philadelphia as an outline of what the government and rights of the people would be. -
Battle of Trenton
The battle of Trenton was a very important win because at the time where American morale was down. The victory helped to raise spirits, it also was George Washington's iconic victory. -
Articles of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation was 5 pages long and contained 13 articles, a conclusion, and signatures. Members worker from June 1776-1777. -
Battle of Camden
The battle of Camden was one of the worst defeats for Americans in the south. With the British winning the battle the gained control over the Carolinas. -
Battle of Yorktown
This event marked the end of a seven year war where the 13 colonies were led to victory by General George Washington. Cornwallis's surrender meant victory for the colonies in the field of Yorktown, Virginia. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was an agreement on the part of the U.S. and British representatives. It granted independence and also western territory for the U.S. as well as setting boundaries. -
Great Compromise
It was a decision made so that the house of representatives and senate, be chosen according to population for equal numbers in each sate.
