  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act is passed by the British, resulting in taxation of papers and legal documents.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts are passed by the British to now include taxation on convenience items such as paint, paper, tea, and among other items.
  • Boston Massacre

    British troops arrive in Massachusetts in order to enforce the Townshend Acts. The presence of British troops upsets the locals, resulting in street fighting. One such famous incident was when a clash between British soldiers and a mob in March 1770 led to five dead civilians.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts are passed by the British, resulting in the port of Massachusetts being closed, and British troops were now required to be housed in vacant homes and taverns.
  • American Revolution begins

    The first shots of the Revolution begin at Lexington and Concord. Suddenly, many volunteers referred to as "Minute Men" show up to Cambridge. These are the foundations of the Continental Army.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The first major action of the war, despite being outnumbered, the inexperienced Colonials held back the veteran British soldiers for more than 2 hours. They were forced to abandon their position eventually, however.
  • America Declares Independence

    The Second Continental Congress is adopted by the Second Continental Congress after being fed up for decades regarding taxes and war.
  • Valley Forge

    Approaching Pennsylvania, the Continental Army hunkers down in Valley Forge during the winter. Supply delivery was streamlined, and the Continental Army was trained in the mean time in order to make them more of a proper fighting force.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Fort Stanwix undergoes a 3 week long siege, ultimately culminating in the retreat of the attacking British, and commendations toward the leader of the fort, Colonel Peter Gansevoort as well as his garrisons by the rest of the Continental Army.
  • French Aid to the Americans

    As result of victory at Saratoga and diplomatic efforts from America, France allies itself with America, providing military and financial aid for the Americans.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    The Americans encroach on Yorktown, General Cornwallis is forced to surrender.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris ratifies the Independence of the 13 states, the American Revolutionary War is now officially at it's end.
