american troops occupied two hills north of boston and the brittish army attacked the patriots. finally on the third attack the british succeded and captured breeds hill. -

it was an attempt to assert the rights of the colonists while maintaining their loyalty to the British crown. -
Common Sense is published
common sense was an important document that expressed both levels of revolution written by tThomas Paine. it was called common sense because he thought that it was common sense to go to war. he was suggesting that anyone could understand the conflict between great brittain and the colonist. -
Declaration of Independence
written mainly by Thomas Jefferson, whose political ideas were expressed on this document (these ideas were based on the era of enlightment). the document clearly states the reasons of independence of the colonies and why the action is justified. -

geroge washington crossed the delaware river to take out the german troops. he attacked them on chritmas night while they were celebrating. -

a brittish army led by Genereal Burgoyne with the objectiuve to cut new england off from the rest of the colonies, but Burgoyne surrendered and that brought france in the war as an american ally. -
The Battle of Yorktown
the colonists won the battle with the help of the french, cornwalls suffered a lot of casualties. -
Treaty of Paris
formally ended the revolutionary war.
