    a brittish army led by Genereal Burgoyne with the objectiuve to cut new england off from the rest of the colonies, but Burgoyne surrendered and that brought france in the war as an american ally.

    the colonists won the battle with the help of the french, cornwalls suffered a lot of casualties.
