"The American Crisis" is a series of pamphlets that was written during the American Revolutionary War. Thomas Paine wrote these to inspire American colonists to keep fighting for their independence. This encouraged perseverance among the troops and the public. -

It was a significant period during the American Revolutionary War. They arrived around December 1777. The soldiers faced extremely harsh conditions. This includes the cold weather, lack of food and materials, etc. They suffered from diseases and about 2000 soldiers died. But there soldiers were also going through some training and the ones that survived left during June 1778. -

These Battles took place in Saratoga, New York such as; The Battle of Freeman's Farm on September 19 and Battle of Bemis Heights on October 7. The American Victory led to British general Burgoyne's surrender and convinced France to ally with the U.S. -
The Battle of Philadelphia
It started in the summer of 1777 when British troops moved from New York City to the Chesapeake Bay trying to capture Philadelphia. The campaign included multiple battle such as; The Battle of Brandywine on September 11, 1777 and The Battle o Germantown on October 4, 1777. The British successfully captured Philadelphia on September 26 ,1777. -
Battle of Yorktown
Took place in September 28, 1781. The American and French forces, who were led by George Washington and General Rochambeau, laid siege to the British army. After weeks of battling, Cornwallis surrendered causing to end the war and pave the way for American independence. -
Treaty of Paris
The treaty was negotiated by Benjamin Franklin, John Jay and John Adams and with British representatives. The treaty remembers the independence and established borders for the nation. It also addressed issues such as debts, return of property, ect. It marked the end of British rule in American colonies and made the U.S. an independent nation.
