Battle of Lexington and Concord
About 3,800 patriots went against 1,500 'lobster backs' or red coats. The patriots had only 88 casualties, while the redcoats had 300 casualties. In Lexington, the minute-men were out-numbered, and retreated, but in Concord, the patriots were pre-pared and the British fell back. This battle marked the beginning of the revolutionary war. -
Seige of Ticonderoga
With only 168 patriots, and 78 red-coats, there was one casualty for the patriots, and none for the red-coats. Fort Ticonderoga was becoming an objective for patriots, but they did not have enough ammunation or canonns to end up successful. Instead, the patriots came up with a plan to cross Lake Champlain and caught the British while they were asleep. This plan worked and the patriots won, taking 100 canonns with them. -
Bunker Hill
There were 2,400 patriots, going up against 3,000 British soldiers and the British had won. This Battle occured at Charlestown,Massaschutes. Important people for the patriots were Joseph Warren, Israel Putnam,and William Presscott. The important person the British had was Sir William Howe. The British took over the 2 hills near Boston. The British won this battle with 1054 casualties. The patriots had only 450 casualties, but the British gained more land and that is why they had won. -
The Battle Of Trenton
3,800 soldiers from the Contientiel Army faced 1.520 soldiers from the British Army and won. The Contiential Army recieved only 7 casualties, while the British Army had 1,014 casualties. George Washington, from the Contiential Army, and Johann Rall, from the British army were both present during the battle. It was freezing during the battle, and many people were ill and had no shoes. The Contiential Army gained back Trenton in this battle. -
Battle Of Saratoga
This battle occured in Saratoga County, New York. The important people on the patriots side were Daniel Morgan, Horatio Sautes, Benedict Arnold, who was actually later found to be a traitor.The conflict lasted until sunset. There were 9,000 American soliders and 7,200 British soliders. 60 Americans were killed and 140 British were killed. -
Battle Of Yorktown
This battle happed at Yorktown,Virginia. The important person present at the battle for the patriots was George Washington, and for the British it was Lord Cornwallis. There were 252 American casualties and 8,642 British casualties, after starting with 20,600 American soliders and 8,980 British soliders. This battle is considered the last major battle of the war.
