    All the patriots were angry and did not pay the tax. Many people started making their own stuff rather than buy it. This is asymmetrical because the patriots can not do anything besides refuse it.

    The Boston Massacre was the killing of five colonists by British regulars on March 5, 1770. It was the culmination of tensions in the American colonies that had been growing since Royal troops first appeared in Massachusetts in October 1768 to enforce the heavy tax burden imposed by the Townshend Acts. This is asymmetrical because the colonists did not even have any defense.

    The Tea Act of 1773 was one of several measures imposed on the American colonists by the heavily indebted British government in the decade leading up to the American Revolutionary War (1775-83). Their resistance culminated in the Boston Tea Party on December 16, 1773, in which colonists boarded East India Company ships and dumped their loads of tea overboard. This is asymmetrical because the British had no way to prevent this from happening.

    The patriots and British saw eachother on the outskirts of Lexington and just stood there for a while and then a shot was accidentally fired on the patriots side and then there was gunfire everywhere. The patriots did not like this a lot but could lead to their freedom. This is asymmetrical because it was a misfire.

    On June 17, 1775, early in the Revolutionary War (1775-83), the British defeated the Americans at the Battle of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts. Despite their loss, the inexperienced colonial forces inflicted significant casualties against the enemy, and the battle provided them with an important confidence boost. Although commonly referred to as the Battle of Bunker Hill, most of the fighting occurred on nearby Breed’s Hill. this is symmetrical because both sides suffered significant loses.

    The British had given their Parliament the rights to to pass laws and give out taxes. The colonists were angry because only servents were treated in such a manner. They also did not like the idea of being controlled by someone from the other side of the ocean. this is asymmetrical because the colonists had no control over what the king or parliament decides.

    The colonist were finally fed up with the British and decided to make the Declaration of Independence. This said that they are to become their own country with their own government and secede from Great Britain. The British thought that the colonist would finally be okay with their governments decisions but were betrayed by the colonists.

    General George Washington’s army crossed the icy Delaware on Christmas Day 1776 and, over the course of the next 10 days, won two crucial battles of the American Revolution. In the Battle of Trenton (December 26), Washington defeated a formidable garrison of Hessian mercenaries before withdrawing. The British did not expect the colonists to do something so deceitful.

General John Burgoyne had lost 86 percent of his expeditionary force that had triumphantly marched into New York from Canada in the early summer of 1777. this is symmetrical because both sides surrendered.

    On this day in 1781, General George Washington, commanding a force of 17,000 French and Continental troops, begins the siege known as the Battle of Yorktown against British General Lord Charles Cornwallis and a contingent of 9,000 British troops at Yorktown, Virginia, in the most important battle of the Revolutionary War. This is symmetrical because both sides have a good chance to win.

    When the war had been two years over the British and colonist had one more battle. the colonists won and the British left. The British did not think the colonist would fight them and win.
