The Boston Tea Party happen on 12/16/1773. There was a protest against the "British Parliament's Tea Act of 1773. The American colonist was frustrated that the British were "imposing taxation without representation.” Significance? This even "was the first major act of defiance to British rule over the colonists." -

First Continental Congress happened because of the reaction between the British government to trade representatives at the Boston Tea Party. This happened on 3/5/1774, the congress had made a decision and disputed the British Parliament's right to tax it without representation in the parliament. -

The Battle of Lexington & Concord occurred on 4/9/1775. Well, the Britsh had marched right into Lexington Concord, and the British were trying to "seize weapons from the colonist". Well, this time the British were confronted by the colonist, the colonist had about 300-400 people with them. The Olive Branch Petition sent to England happened on, 7/5/1775, this was supposed to please King George 3 and try to stop conflicts between the colonies, but the British government was escalating to the point it became a war. King George didn't respond to the Olive Branch nor did he react, so he put things into his own hands and "declared his own Proclamation of Rebellion." -
