Paul Revere's Ride
Paul Revere was tasked by Joseph Warren to send a warning to Samuel Adams and John Hancock that they were planned to be arrested by British soldiers in Lexington. When Revere was in Lexington he conveyed the message, on his way back he told an unknown friend to set up two lanterns so he knew when to flee. The same signal the British use to know if to travel "by sea" and not "by land".All three men got caught Prescott and Dawes escaped while Revere was held for some time, questioned, and let go. -
