the britih set up in Yorktow and waiting for more troops to come from New York they were waiting for more supplies while George Washingtons army had 5000 French troops and they were marching threw south Virginia one of the French ships wnt behind th British and traped them and they surrendered. The peace treaty was approved Grea Britian formally recognized the independance of the United States of America.
