Fort Ticonderoga
Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys stormed fort Ticonderoga and captured it. The capture of Ticonderoga provided a base of operations for the invasion of Quebec and it interrupted British communication.

Bunker (Breed's) Hill
The battle of bunker hill was fought on breeds hill just outside of Boston. The colonial forces heard that after the capture of Boston, the British were going to fortify the hills around it. The redcoats won in the end but not before suffering many more casualties than the colonists.

The battles of Trenton and Princeton resulted after George Washington led his men across the Delaware River on December 25th of the previous year. He crushed the Hessians and gave morale back to his army.

General Burgoyne had previously failed to penetrate American lines at the first battle of Saratoga and almost a month later was back for another go. It ended up being a major American victory. It was considered the turning point of the war.

British forces invaded the town of Charleston and defeated the Americans in what would be their worst loss of the whole war. They then burned down many buildings.
