    The Battle of Lexington and Concord
    started the american revolution, On the night of April 18, 1775, hundreds of British troops marched from Boston to nearby Concord in order to take an arms cache. Paul Revere and William Dawes sounded the alarm to warn the militia that the British are coming. The British and the militia got in a confrontation and started firing. The British soon retreated under heavy fire.

    early in the war the British defeated the Americans on bunker hill. having learned that the British were planning to send troops from Boston to take the hills surrounding the city 1000 colonial militiamen under Colonel William Prescott build deffences. the British kept on re forming there lines. The British won but they had many causalities.

    On August 27, 1776 the British Army successfully moved against the American Continental Army led by George Washington. The battle was part of a British mission to take control of New York and there by isolate New England from the rest of the colonies. Washington’s lose could have led to the surrender of his whole force, but his ingenuity allowed him to escape and continue the fight.

    General Washington and his troops rode a crossed the icy Delaware river on 1776 Christmas day. The Continental army won two important battles. Washington defeated a formidable army of Hessian mercenaries before withdrawing. A week later he returned to Trenton to lure British forces south, then executed a night march to capture Princeton on January 3. the wins gave the Continental army a moral boost
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    the battle was 18 days in the fall season. these two battles were the turning point in the revolution. On September 19th, British General John Burgoyne achieved a small, but costly victory over the continental army led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. Though his troop strength had been weakened, Burgoyne again attacked the Americans at Bemis Heights on October 7th, but this time was defeated and forced to retreat. He surrendered ten days later, and that made the french there allies.

    The Battle of Monmouth was fought on June 28, 1778, in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The Continental Army under General George Washington attacked the rear of the British Army column commanded by Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton as they left Monmouth Court House. Americans allowed the British to take initiative, but Washington's arrival rallied the troops up a hill. the British eventually withdrawn.

    the battle of cowpens was fought in south Carolina. the american army under General Daniel Morgan defeated British troops under Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton. this battle had heavy causalities on the British.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    in the fall of 1781 a army of both french and Americans laid siege on the british in Yorktown. Led by George Washington and French General Comte de Rochambeau, they stared there final attack on October 14, they captured to british deffences and the british surrendered. Yorktown was the final battle in the american revolution.
