  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The battle of Lexington and Concord was an important battle in American History. After the smoke had cleared eight minutemen lay dead at Lexington. At Concord the British took a heavy hit because they lost 73 soldiers and an extra 174 were wounded. In the end the colonists won the battle.
  • The Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    At this battle the Continental Army, lead by generals Allen and Arnold, took the British army by surprise and fought until the British surrendered.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The battle of Bunker Hill was technically a loss for the Patriot militia, but in the end it took three charges until the British took the hill, and the British casualty tole was much higher then the Patriots at 1000.
  • Battle of Long Island

    This battle was part of a British campaign to seize control of New York and thereby isolate the New England colonies from the others. Washington defeat could have defeated his hole army but with his intellect he got out of there to fight another day.
  • Battle of Trenton

    On Christmas night general Washington and his troops went across the Delaware river and surprised the Hessian troops, and won the battle. It was a tremendous physical and mental victory for the American militia.
  • The battle of Saratoga

    This battle was a major turning point in the war because the French then joined the colonists in their fight for freedom. Also the colonists technically won because many of the British troops fell.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    This battle was fought between the Patriots and the British and Hessian armies. This battle was thought to be a draw for both sides even though the Militia were thought to have lost a few more soldiers.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    As Tarleton's men attacked, Morgan instructed the militia to skirmish them but to leave the front line after firing two rounds. The British mistook the repositioning of the Americans as a rout and ran into an unexpected volley of rifle fire. Tarleton escaped but Morgan's troops decimated his army.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    This was the last major battle of the Revolutionary War, were the British army surrendered to the Patriots and the French giving the colonies their freedom. In the end the British had around two times more casualties at 500.
