The Siege of Charleston
The siege of Charleston is a first step in the British campaign to take the South. During the siege, Sir Henry Clinton led 14,000 British troops in an assault against General Benjamin Lincoln and his 5,000 troops of the Continental Army. The siege ended with the surrender of Loncoln's 5,000 troops resulting in a heavy blow for the colonists. -

The Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was the last major battle of the American Revolution in which Washington marched the Contintental Army, stationed in New York, onto Cornwallis' camp in Yorktown. The Battle lasted with three weeks of shelling upon the British troops and on October 19, 1781 Cornwallis surrendered the British army, effectively ending the Revolutionary War with Great Britain.
