The Stamp Act
A tax put on the colonists directly to have them repay the war debts of Great Britain during and after the Seven Years' War. As the colonists began to get taxed, this caused them to become outraged by this which was going to lead to a war. -
The Boston Massacre
One night in Boston, British soldiers populated the streets because of smugglers. As the colonists saw them in the street they started to tease and throw things at them such as snowballs and such. One of the men taunting the soldiers was Crispus Attucks. Crispus was also the first man killed during the massacre. As the noise in the air was loud, the British soldiers heard someone yell "fire" so they fired thinking that their leading officer gave the command. -
Boston Tea Party
As the tension between the Colonists and the British grew more, the colonists decided to make a point to the British.The colonists dress up as Native Americans and raid a British ship carrying tea when it docks at the Boston Harbor. When the colonists boarded the ship they dumped crates of tea into the harbor destroying it. The plan was for the British to think that the Natives were responsible for this. -
The Coercive Acts
After the Boston Tea Party took place, the word about this got back to the King and his reaction was to punish the colonists. His way was to pass the Coercive Acts. Which accumulated The Quartering Act, The Boston Port Act, and other acts described as "Intolerable" acts by the Colonists, The Quartering Act required the colonists to house British soldiers when the need to do so. The Boston Port Act was also put out in response to the raid. The Act called for that the colonists pay for the damages -
Battles of Lexington and Concord
This was the kick off for the American Revolution was referred to "the shot heard around the world" because it later inspired other revolutions in other countries later. It was a unexpected win for the Colonists and was the encouraging start of the war. -
The Battle of Ticonderoga
The Battle of Ticonderoga was one of the battles that happen in the Revolutionary War and the Americans had won it. Ticonderoga was known to have a lot of weaponry and that weaponry had helped the Americans siege Boston. -
Battle of Quebec
The Battle of Quebec was a miserable loss for the Colonists. After the Colonists captured Ticonderoga they tried invading Quebec and capture it but the British and Canadian forces were able to hold the Colonists back. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was one of the very first battles in the American Revolution. The Americans were able to capture Bunker Hill and with the intention to trap the British in the Siege of Boston. -
The Siege of Boston
The Siege of Boston was a conformation between the newly created Continental Army and the British, this was was the aftermath of the Battle of Lexington and Concord. The Colonists were able to make the British surrender Boston. -

The Siege of Charleston, this siege was made by the British army and they successfully captured Charleston, South Carolina. -

The Declaration of Independence was a document that was written by Thomas Jefferson and was amended by Congress. The Declaration also marked the separation between America and Great Britain. -

Valley Forge
The Valley Forge was a very bad event for the Colonists, they were camping in very harsh winters and suffered from coldness, sickness, and starvation. However, Washington was able to hold the army together and they were able to recapture Philadelphia. -

The Battle of Camden was another British victory that happened in South Carolina along with British's other victory in Charleston. -
The Articles of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation was the first governing document of the freshly started United States. This article made the Continental Congress head of the war which helped them end the Revolutionary War. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was the last major defeat for the British and after their loss, this is when Great Britain decided to come to a negotiating trade. Washington and his army were able to beat British general Cornwallis and his army in this battle. -
The Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris is what stopped the American Revolution, once this was made Britain finally recognized the United States as an independent nation. The British also had given them tons of territory. -
Annapolis Convention
The Annapolis Convention was a very important meeting gathered only by the representatives of several states to discuss the economic issues. The issues reported from this meeting had called for a Constitutional Convention to be needed. -
Philadelphia Constitutional Convention
The Philadelphia Constitutional Convention was only met in order to reform the Articles of Confederation under the United States. During this meeting, they ended up scraping the Convention and made an entirely new document referring to the new issues that the nations were facing. -
Bill of Rights
The Bill of Rights was made to refer to the first ten amendments, personal freedom, and the limitation on government power. When first published they only affected the Federal government but later on another amendment was made to apply to all individual states.
