Jefferson
The American Revolution was on July 4, 1776. The DOI was an announcement basically saying that they wanted peace, and that they wanted declare there Independence. This was also how the saying, "The shot heard around the world," came up. Somebody fired, but nobody knows who yet. -
Battles of Trent and New Jersey
This took place in Trenton, New Jersey. The British attacked and caught them off guard, and the British lost. This was a good plan to attack because the British were not expecting this at all on Christmas night. -

This is a governing document of the US state. This was a document saying which state is where and the name of the state and the owner of the state. Then the government just had to accept. -
Howe captures Philadelphia
The British captured Philadelphia. They did this because they followed George Washington's defeat at the Battle of Brandywine and the Battle of the Clouds. -

This was a battle where Americans won over the British in the American Revolutionary War. This effected both countries money and ability to by stuff. -
Articles of Confederation
This was an agreement among the 13 original states and its first constitution. This took a lot of arguing, but they made it work out. -

The winters here were training, and it was led by George Washington. -
Congress prohibits enslaved people imported to the US
This event was when there were slaves. Jefferson was the person who stopped this slavery in in the Northwest Territory. -
John Paul Jones & Serapis
This was a huge boat that took over a year to build. It was almost impossible to take down, and you did want to mess with it, this ship was armed. -
Spain Declares war on Great Britain
This was an event that took place when King Charles III did not accept a treaty to have peace with the United States. America later won this war in 1898. -
British forces capture Charles Town
Clinton, Prevost, and General Charles Lord Cornwallis wanted to fight at Charleston, but lost. This meant that the British trapped the Americans. In this case, British got what they wanted. -
British surrender at Yorktown
This is where the British and Americ went at it in Yorktown. America was destroying, so they surrendered. America won. -
Treaty of Paris
This was signed by King George III. This was ended the American Revolution war between America and the British.
