    Lexington & Concord
    Paul Revere rode through town and warned their men about the British coming to Lexington and Concord. They had the advantage of intel and had Minutemen waiting at the area. They battled (Which only lasted 15 minutes) and the British pushed forward. Upon entering Concord, the Minutemen had already had 3,000 men waiting in a line. The Minutemen had slaughtered the British, forcing them to retreat.
  • Bunker Hill

    Bunker Hill
    The British wanted to take Bunker Hill as their own and sent men to take it over. The British had sent 2,400 soldiers and suffered heavy casualties. The colonist kept their ground and fought with everything they had. The colonist lost 450 men while the british lost over 1,000

    New York (Battle of Long Island)
    Long Island was invaded by 32,000 British soldiers. There were also some German mercenaries who fought with them too called the Hessians.
  • Battle of Trenton

    Washington lead a small group of soldiers (2,400) to Trenton for a surprise attack to take it over. On christmas night, they took it by surprise because all of the British soldiers were either drunk or asleep so a surprise attack was a good plan.

    The British army had a General named George Burgoyne, were in Saratoga and trying to occupy it. What they didn't notice was that their officers were occupied taking over philadelphia, so no backup was provided and they were forced to surrender to the Continental Army

    Washington and his army were low on food and supplies. They were surviving off of scraps. They suffered from diseases and many of the soldiers had died. Over 2,000 soldiers died while camping in Valley Forge

  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    The General of the British army lead 7,500 men to the peninsula of James and York rivers and then settled down and camped in Yorktown. When the British learned what the Continental Army was doing, they surrendered, cause the Continental Army was going to fortify Yorktown, giving the British a major disadvantage.
