Proclamation of 1763
The proclamation of 1763 was a document stating that the newly owned british land won in the french and indian war could not be colonised because of the fighting that went on between the indians and the coloninests. The event was important because this angered the colonistes which helped fuel the revoluntary war. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an incident where the colonistes were making fun of and throwing rocks at british soldiers and the soldiers decided to fight back by shooting at them. The event was important because the colonistes used the event as propaganda and it sparked more fights aginst the british. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a rebellious act against the Tea Act where members of the sons of liberty climed abord a tea ship in the boston harbor and dumped all of the tea overbord. This event was important because it symboled as a rebolious act against the british but in doing so they also ended up making the british close the boston harbor untill the entire debt of the tea was paid off. -
Lexington and Concord
Lexington and Concord was the beging battles of the Revolutnary war. It was known as "The Shot Herd Round the World" because that one begining shot effected everyone around the world. This battle was important because it was the first battle of the revolutnary war. -
Fort Ticonderoga
Fort Ticonderoga was a fort that was made by the french in the french and indian war. This fort had much recources like wepons and it was inbetween the american and british border. The two armies fought for the fort and the coloniests won. This was important because it provided much supplies to the colonistes. -
Bunker Hill
Bunker Hill was a famous battle in the revolutnary war where the colonists where in bad shape and Genral Prescott said dont shoot untill see the whites of their eyes. This battle was signifent because it gave the colonistets new stratiges and experince. -
Olive Branch Petition
The Olive Branch Petition was a petiton to try to stop the war from happening and work things out peacefully insted of going to war. The colonistes would still have their rights but be under british rule. Saddly this plan failed. The importance of this document was the last attempt at peace. -
Publishing of Common Sense
Common Sense was a pamphlet published by Thomas Paine that was written in common english so that the people could better understand about what was happening with the british and the colonistes. Common Sense helped gain more people to the colonistes because the people better understood what was going on. -
Dorchester Heights
The Fortification of Dorchester Hights was an atack on the british where they had the choice to try and concure and fortify dorchester or flee. They chose to foritify and suceeded. This was important because it helped in the war against the british and gave the colonistists more land. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was a document made by the colonistes that clearly stated our indipendence from the british rule. This was important because this was the start of the Revoluntary War between the Colonists and the Brittish. -
Princeton
The battle of Princeton was a battle where George Wasington's forces defeted the british near Princeton, New Jersy. It was important because It was a nother victory for the american troops. -
Valley Forge
Valley Forge was a period of rest for the colonies. They stayed there to regroup and to rest up because of weather conditions and the british blocked them off from the next town. It is important because it gave the colonies time to disipline themselfes and rest. -
Saratoga
Saratoga was a battle that was consitered as a turning point for the Revolutnary war. The colonies captured General John Burgoyne's troops. This was importnat because it served as a turning point for the war. -
Trenton
The battle of trenton was a battle against the colonists and the Hessians. After a short battle almost the entire hessian army was captured. This battle was important because it boosted the colonists spirt and got them one step closer to winning the war. -
Yorktown
The battle in Yorktown was the last major battle on the revolutnary where British General Cornwallis surendered It was important because it was the battle that the british surrendered which claimed victory to the Colonies -
Treaty of Paris 1783
The Treaty of Paris was a treaty that was signed that declared the colonies its independence from british rule. It was important because it was the end of the war and gave the Americas their victory.
