Lord Dunmore, the British governor, offered freedom to slaves who were able to enter British territory. Many will seek freedom and few will fight for the patriots. -
Declaring Independence
America declared its independence by the Second Continental Congress. King George III is not very accepting. -
France enters the war
France becomes allies with America due to the victory of the patriots at Saratoga. French aid will prove very important. -
Treaty of Paris
After much negotiation, the British got to keep Canada as a territory and the independence of the 13 colonies/states were ratified.
