  • The French and Indian war

    The French and Indian war
    It's the end of the French and Indian War. The war was fought mostly by the colonies of British America and New France. The British and the colonies fought together while France and the Native Americans were on the same side. The two countries declared war on each other in 1756. Later that year the war went from a regional war to a world wide war. The war was fought mostly on the perimeter of the frontiers separating New France and the British colonies. (Note: date is estimated)
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Suger Act, also known as the American Revenue Act, was when the British Parliament modified a revenue raising act that cut taxes on sugar by half. The only downside to this was that the British also raised taxes on wine, coffee and indigo. The British never asked permission. The colonists were very angry and they felt like they were being controlled.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Also known as the incident on King Street, the Boston Massacre killed five male citizens while injuring six more. With great tension between the citizens and British soldiers, a large crowd formed around the soldiers. The large crowd was verbally abusing the soldiers. The soldiers shot into the crowd killing three people instantly and two dying later from wounds.

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty. They dressed up as Native Americans and destroyed a whole shipment of tea from the East-India company. They boarded the ship and threw all of the tea into the Boston Harbor. The British government did not like this and responded harshly starting the American Revolution.
  • Paul Revers Ride

    Paul Revers Ride
    On April 18th, Paul Revere was sent to ride to Lexington, Massachusetts to warn Samul Adams and John Handcock that the British troops where coming to arrest them. Revere rowed across the Charleston River and then he borrowed a horse from a friend. On the way to Lexington, Revere warned each house in the countryside.

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord were the first military actions between the British and Colonists. The battle was fought on Province of Massachusetts Bay. At this time the British controlled Boston and had orders to capture the rebel military.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    The Battle of Bunker Hill was on and around Breed's Hill (not Bunkers Hill surprisingly). The battle is named after Bunker Hill that was adjacent to Bunker Hill. Bunker Hill was the original objective of both the colonists and the British. Sadly for the colonists, the British triumphed to victory.

    The Decleration of Independance
    The Declaration of Independence is a document that says that the colonists were no longer part of Great Britain. The colonists were at war during the time the document was signed. John Adams was a leader in the writing of the Declaration of Independence.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    The Battle of Saratoga decided tha fate between the British led by General John Burgoyne and the Colonists. 18 days after this battle there was another one in the same location, nine miles away from Saratoga, New York.
  • Battle of Germantown

    Battle of Germantown
    The Battle of Germantown was fought in Germantown which is now part of Philadelphia. It was fought between the colonists who where led by George Washington and the British who where led by Sir William Howe. The British won this battle claming the capitol of the colonies for 1777-1778.
