  • Boston Massacre

    This event took place in Boston Massachusetts in 1770 as British soldiers opened fire on a group of colonists. This act killed five men and injured six others. The watch commander and the soldiers were soon arrested the next morning. This caused much hate over British soldiers in the colonies because of their harsh acts.
  • Boston Tea Party

    On December 16 1773, roughly about 70 men boarded on three British ships at the Boston harbor and threw their tea cargo into the sea. The destruction of the tea cargo was a protest against the Tea Act which was passed by the British Parliament earlier that year and gave the British East India Company power on tea sale in the colonies.
  • American Revolution

    The start of the American Revolution is one of the reasons that loyalists migrated to Canada. They left because they had felt that the United States was not safe for their kind of people.
  • Battle of Lexington and Concords

    On of April 18 in 1775, the British governor of Massachusetts sent several hundred British troops to seize the colonists at Concord. The British's intentions were soon discovered by the Patriot colonists who decided to prevent the British from carrying out their plan. Local military gathered at Lexington to intercept the British troops. They managed to repulse the outnumbered militiamen in early morning of April 19 and then proceeded towards Concord.
  • Treaty of Paris

    The treaty of Paris helped to recognize america's independence. It was negotiated between Great Britain and the United Sates, the continental congress named a five member commission to negosiate a treaty.
