French and indian war
The French and Indian war cost the British a lot of money so they began taxing the colonists which caused a lot of tension. -
proclomation of 1763
This Proclamation stopped the colonies from expanding westward so the 13 colonies were all they were gonna get. This is why when you look at a map of the 13 colonies it stops in the same place. -
Sugar act
The sugar act was a tax on all merchants and the money went to their agents so they would have more power and that made the colonials very angry. -
Currency Act
The currency act was enforced to protect British traders from being paid in colonial cash. This caused the Americans to add Great Britain as a grievance. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston massacre was important to the revolutionary war because it caused all of the colonists to become very angry at the British and pushed them even more to got to war. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was important because it forced the British to react and pushed the revolutionary war to begin. -
Boston Port act
The Boston Port act is when the British closed the Boston port to make up for the tea spilled into the ocean during the Boston tea party as an attempt to stop other colonies from rising up. -
Massachusets Government Act
The Massachusetts government act was an attempt to stop the power that the Massachusetts government had and instead give that power to British administrators. -
Lexington
This battle started the revolutionary war where the British destroyed supplies but were eventually driven away by the American militia. -
Concord
The battle of concord was the same as the battle of Lexington where the British destroyed some resources but suffered heavy losses. -
Bunker Hill
The colonists lost the position but it was a big morale booster and the colonists believed that true patriotism is better than experience. -
Decleration of Independance
The declaration was very important because it stated our very first goals for our government to build off of. It also contained the complaints of the colonists to show that they would not go unanswered. -
Saratoga
The victory at saratoga proved to the french that they could win inspiring them to join the Americans. -
Yorktown
This was the last major battle for the colonists and this battle marked the end of the revolution. -
French Alliance
The French Alliance was very important because they gave us supplies, troops, and most importantly a navy. Their navy saved us from a big fight when one British General positioned himself on a peninsula and the french navy were able to force him to surrender. -
Treaty of Paris
The treaty of Paris ended the war and marked the USA as an independent country. -

He used his wealth to help aid the American revolution and was president of the second continental congress. -
George and Martha Washington
George Washington was the first-ever general of the armies of the united states and was the first-ever American president. Martha Washington was his wife and she tended to everything while George was on the front lines and she visited him every winter to keep his morale high in the hardest season. -
Samuel Adams
Samuel Adams was a founding father who protested taxation without representation which united the colonies in the American revolution. -
Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton defended and ratified the US Constitution and became one of the most influential founding fathers, -
Paul Revere
He took part in the Boston Tea Party and was a principal rider for the Bostons Committee of Safety. He also came up with an ingenious way to warn the minutemen of a British invasion by using lamps. -
Abigail and John Adams
Abigail Adams was important because she was John Adams's main advisor and stood for women and black rights. John Adams helped negotiate the treaty of pairs which ended the war and he became the second us president. -
Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was the primary writer of the declaration of independence. He was also the second vice president and successfully brokered the Louisiana purchase.
