The declaration of independence was written by Thomas Jefferson and was later revised and edited by Benjamin Franklin and John Adam. This document talks about the rights the Americans should have. The main purpose of this document is that the united states of america deserve to be free and independent states. Also that their connection with Britain should be totally dissolved. After this declaration America would declare war to Britain for their freedom. -

Nathan Hale was born in Connecticut in the year of 1755. Nathan was a strong and a brave American Revolutionary officer who penetrated the British lines in New York to obtain information on the enemy. He was later captured and executed without trial. He is well know for his bravery and devotion to his nation. His last words before his execution were " I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country,”. -
Battle of Trenton
This battle was fought in Trenton, New Jersey. This battle consisted of General Washington's troops against the British and hessian. Hessian were German troops which where hired by Britain to aid them in battle.There were 2,400 American troops against 1,400 enemy troops. The troops of General Washington out numbered the enemy therefore, the colonist became victorious. -
Battle of Bennington
The battle of Bennington was fought in New York in the year of 1777. Brigadier John Stark commanded the Americans troops and the enemy troops were commanded by Colonels Baum and Breyman. john stark had about 2000 troops and colonels Baum and Breyman had around 650 troops. Due to the Americans having a upper hand because of the number of their troops this was a easy victory. After the Battle general Stark was named as a American hero. -

The British troops originally won this battle. Unfortunately for them they sustained critical damage to their which allowed the Americans to prepare for a counter strike. Due to the British troops military power being severely damaged the Americans stole away Britain victory. This battle ended with the British surrendering. This battle was one of the most important battles because it helped persuade France to recognize American independence and provide military assistance. -

Lord Grey was the commander of the British troops In this battle he and troops ambushed the America troops. Anthony Wayne was the commander of the American troops. Before the ambush he ordered his troops to take out the flints out of their rifles.The British led by Grey launched a devastating strike into Wayne's unprepared American camps.During this battle the British used Bayonets to stab or burn the american that tried to surrender. the total of 53 Americans were killed and 100 injured. -

Washington received a Intel of a attack on Howe's 9,000 troop garrison stationed in Germantown. As a result the Americans planned an ambush on the British. At first the Americans were winning but the tables quickly turned. One can say that they lost to bad luck because of their poor timing on their attacks. This made Washington to retreat to white marsh. The Americans suffered 152 losses, 521 wounded, and over 400 captured. -

In the year 1778, America and France posed a treaty between the two nations. In this treaty France would provide military assistance to the Americans against Britain. The French were a good source of military assistance because they and the Americans both had a common enemy, the British. Benedict Arnold betrayed the U.S when he turned over the U.S. post at West Point in return for money. Also the British even offered him command in the British army. John Andre arrested
John Andre was born on May 2, 1750 in London. He was a British military officer who came to the U.S as a spy. It is known that he was the one who convinced Benedict Arnold to sell out west point. He was caught and than later hanged at the age 31. In a matter of fact the Americans only found out about the betrayal of Benedict Andre due to John Andre's arrest. -

It took place off the coast of Maryland and Virginia.This was an important naval victory for the America and France. There were a total of 19 British ships and about 24 French ships in the battle. Treaty of Paris
This is perhaps the most important event in the American revolution. The treaty of Paris took place in the year of 1783 B.C. This treaty officially ended the American revolution war. American statesmen like Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and John Jay with the representatives of king Charles III negotiated the peace treaty. After this treaty Britain would now recognize the independence of America and and gave most of its territory east of the Mississippi River to the United States.
