Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was repealed on March 18th 1765. The Stamp Act imposed a direct tax on the colonists. The tax was on all the paper documents in the colonies. -

The Boston Tea Party was a political protest. The Americans were angry and frustrated at Britain for imposing "taxation without representation". The colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped 342 chests of tea imported by the British East India Company. -
The Battles of Lexington and Concord
These battles kicked off the American Revolutionary War. Hundreds of British troops came marching into Lexington and met with a militia that started a battle. The British continued their way to Concord where the colonists came after them and they fought. The Americans won that battle. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was a British victory but was very costly. The Colonists were instructed to not fire until they saw the whites of the British eyes. They fired when the British were yards away which then the British started to retreat.The British attacked again and then had to retreat again. They came up the hill for the third time and the colonist had to retreat. -

The Battle of Trenton was a small but pivotal battle. Washington leading the Continental Army defeated the some Hessian mercenaries before withdrawing. Washington surprised the Hessian troops in Trenton. -

The Battle of Princeton was a week later than the Battle of Trenton.Washington sent a small force to destroy a bridge. The force encountered redcoats on their way to the bridge. -

When the Continental Army stayed at Valley Forge for the winter, it was very cold and they had very few supplies left over. Over the six months stayed there, George Washington worked with Prussian military officer to transform his army to a group that could beat the British army. -

The siege on Charleston was a decisive success for the British. The British planned to capture the city and take its harbor for a base from which to conduct operations in their attempt to rally the support from american loyalists. -

The battle of Yorktown was a siege lead by American forces (Colonial and French troops). The American forces outnumbered the British forces. They attacked which lead the British to retreat and surrender. The British came up with some peace negotiations.
