    People have certain Inalienable Rights including Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness. All Men are created equal. Individuals have a civic duty to defend these rights for themselves and others.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

    The Americans and French trap General Cornwallis’s army at Yorktown, Virginia.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    This ended the American Revolution. Benjamin Franklin was chief negotiator. And territory much larger than thirteen colonies was also acquired.

    This was meant to create a strong central government. Allow for some power to remain with the states.
  • The French Revolution

    The French Revolution was a period of major social upheaval that began in 1787 and ended in 1799. It sought to completely change the relationship between the rulers and those they governed and to redefine the nature of political power.

    British naval victory over Denmark in the Napoleonic Wars. There were several reasons for the animosity between the countries.
