  • French and Indian War

    A seven year war that was fought between Britain and France for new world territory. The war resulted in the Treaty of Paris and ended in 1754.

    A conflict that was caused by colonist harassing british soldiers until they open fire on the protestors. Heavily publicized by Paul Revere.

    Shadow governments organized by patriotic leaders of the 13 colonies. The premiere founder was Samuel Adams.
  • Boston Tea Party

    A act of rebellion by the Sons of Liberty by rejecting mercantilism and tea tax. Dressed up as native americans and threw tea into the Boston Harbor. Eventually resulting in the tolerable acts.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Result of Boston tea party, the intolerable acts was laws put in place on Massachusetts colonist after the Boston tea party. This forced colonist to house British soldiers in there home.
  • Lexington and Concord

    The first battle in the American revolution. Fought in the Massachusetts bay and around 73 were killed in the fight.
  • The Battle of Bunker Hill

    Was a atack on the siege of Boston during the beginning stages of the American revolution. Was named after Bunker Hill in Charleston Massachusetts because that was where most of the battle took place.

    Is a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine to advocate independence from the British. A way to persuade colonist to join the revolution.
  • Declaration of Independence

    A declaration from the continental congress that declared to be free from Great Britain. Was made in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    A decisive victory to the Americans over the British. Marked the climax of the war.
  • Valley Forge

    A winter encampment under the Continental army under command by General George Washington. Congress then fled from Philadelphia after being taken over by the British.
  • Battle of Cowpens

    A battle between the Americans and the British over the territory over the Carolinas. Both side were led by lieutenants. Americans forces were under General Daniel Morgan and british was under Colonel Sir Banastre Tarleton.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    A decisive victory to defeat the British which was the last blow in thee war until British surrendered. America forced combined with French forces under the command of American General George Washington and French troops were led by Comte de Rochambeau.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Signed by US and British representatives. Agreed that the US is represented as a country and gained significant territory in the West.
