Roughly eight minutemen were killed and ten were wounded but only one british soldier was injured. This would be the first fight of the Revolutionary war and it only lasted 15 minutes

    After the british finished the Minutemen at Lexington. They marched to Concord to which they found the empty arsenal. A small skirmish happens and the british lined up to march back to boston however this march would be slaughtered. Around 3,000 and 4,000 minutemen had assembled by this time and they hid behind stone walls and trees to had a advantage when firing. The remaining british soldiers would make their way back to boston and the colonist would become enemies of the britain.

The two regiments would join forces to isolate new England from the rest of the colonies. As Burgoyne traveled the militiamen gathered to new york and new england and started to fight off the troops. American Troops would defeat burgoyne at Saratoga

    Washington and his Continental Army were desperately low on food and supplies. They could not fight off the winter in Valley Forge pennsylvania. This caused more than 2,000 soldiers to die yet the survivors did not desert. They would endure to fill washington's letters to congress and his friends.

  • The Battle of Yorktown

    The Battle of Yorktown
    The British moved the fight to Virginia with a army of 7,500 straight to the peninsula between James and York rivers camped at Yorktown. He planned to fortify yorktown to take virginia and move back to the north to join Clintons forces. Once the armies of Lafayette and Washing moved south towards yorktown. By late September about 17,000 french and americans troops surrounded the british and bombarded them day and night. By 10/19/1781 they had Surrendered.

    After winning the war, the americans would form a negotiating team which would have john adams, john jay of new york and benjamin franklin. They would sign the Treaty of paris which confirmed the U.S Independence and set the boundaries of the new nation.
