  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Angry colonists came over to the only guard that was guarding the "Kings Gold" and started harrassing him. A fight broke out because the guard hit them first. Several soilders showed up and the colonists didn't want guns to be fired. It is rumored that someone said "fire" and one of the british soilder fired, but to this day nobody acually knows who fired first.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Sons of Liberty got sick of being taxed so much, so they decided to dress up as Native Americans and throw tea into the ocean. Representing them throwing away money.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    700 British troops came to Lexington. The minutemen were outnumbered and were ordered to disperse, then a shot was fired. Nobody knows who fired first. 8 minutemen were dead and 9 wounded, Only one redcoat was injured. In Concord the British burned stuff down.
  • Bunker (Breed's) Hill

    Bunker (Breed's) Hill
    The British Troops marched in columns up to the top of the hill and the Americans fired and the British ended up retreating. The Americans kept making the British retreat 2 more times! On the fourth time the British came up the Americans had to retreat because they ran out of ammo. This battle was terrible for the British.

    Thomas Paine published his pamphlet "Common sense." The pamphlet talked about American independence. It ended up getting very popular and it led to the anoynomous vote of the American people to have independence.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and then wrote a fair copy and drafted it. Then it was drafted into 5 parts. The congress voted for Independence the adopted the Declaration of Independence on the forth of July.
  • Battle at Trenton/Princeton

    Battle at Trenton/Princeton
    The Hessian force was at Trenton, there was rumors that they were drunk. They took prisoners, arms, and supplies of the American troops. At Princeton the Americans defeated the British.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    In the first battle at Freeman's Farm they fought for several hours. The British suffered twice the number of casualties. The Continental Army won at the Battle of Saratoga. They cut off supply routes and made sure there was no possibility of the British winning.
  • Continental Army Wintering At Valley Forge

    Continental Army Wintering At Valley Forge
    Over 11,000 soldiers that were stationed at Valley Forge had a very rough winter. Hundreds of soldiers died from disease. The remaining troops held themselves together with their loyalty to one and other. They left Valley Forge more deciplined and stronger.
  • War in the South/Charleston

    War in the South/Charleston
    The Americans worst defeat of the revolution. The British captured 3,000+ patriots and a bunch of equipment. The British only lost 250 soldiers. The Patriots surrendered only a little while later.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    2,500 Americans and 4,000 French soldiers faced 8,000 British troops. The British had cannons showering down on them, and Americans and the French made trenches.
