Boston Massacere
British soldiers were harassed and became afraid for their lives. The soldiers fired at the colonists, killing five people. This event lead to more colonial anger against the soldiers and the king of Britten. -
The Declaration of Independence
American colonies wanted to become independent with the British, so they formed a committee and wrote the declaration of independence. This cave the colonists the independence they wanted. -
Trail of Tears
President Jackson claimed Indian removal was "just and liberal" and would allow Native Americans to keep their way of life. This was not the case. It started with the Choctaw, and then more tribes were faced with little to no choice but to sign treaties and give up their land to the whites. But the Cherokee applied to court and won. After that, the Cherokee were forced by President Jackson to walk the trail of tears. (American History: chapter 13, section 2, page 405) -
Texas Revolutoin
The Texans declared Texas free and independent republic on the 1 of March in 1836. The war lasted 13 days and Santa Anna’s was captured in the end. This war gave the U.S. the texas area from the Mexicans (American History: chapter 13, section 2, page 430). -
Donner Party
In the spring of 1846 a group of 90 or so people pulled up stakes and headed west. These people became known to history as the Donner Party. The group tried to take a supposedly shorter route which lead to the getting stuck in the snow because of its extra length. Their supplies ran out quickly and they had to resort to eating their own dead. This affects us by giving us the knowledge of what hard times could bring back then and how quickly things could go south (history.com). -

Fort Sumter was used to protect Charleston harbor. It was attacked by confederate troops on April 12, 1861, which started the civil war. -

Battle of Antietam
The battle of Antietam was the bloodiest battle in U.S. history. It was fought on union soil at Antietam creek in Maryland. This Victory from the union stopped Lee’s army from traveling farther north. -
Early Nintendo
Nintendo was originally a playing card company in Japan that, after a while, moved on to toy manufacturing. Nintendo later made the Famicom which lead to the U.S.’s NES. The NES revived gaming in America after the crash. -
Brown V. Board of education
Linda Brown's father issued a case to let his daughter attend the nearby white school. The case went to the supreem court and at the end of the case segragation became illigal. -
Early SEGA
Standard games originally made slot machines for the U.S. They changed their name to SEGA enterprises when the switched over to the Japanese public. Sega entered the home console market in 1982 with their third generation console, the SG-1000. This made console gaming in Japan sky rocket. -
Death of Elvis
Elvis died from a heart attack caused by an over dose of prescription drugs. Many people’s idol died, but rock ‘n roll became much more popular because of him. -
Nine Eleven
Terrorists hijacked 2 planes to crash into the world trade center. About 2500 people were killed as the towers fell to the ground. Another plane was crashed into the pentagon. -
