Congress passed a bill that stated imigrants had to take a test on their English. They had to know at least 40 words in English. However, President Cleveland eventually vetoed it. -

The San Fransico earthquake was one of the most memorable earthquakes of all time. It lasted almost 80 kilometers. -
The Beginning of WW1
America entered the war after German U-Boats sunk the Lusitania in 1915. Also, the German side trying to convince Mexico to invade the US. The war ended in 1918. -
18th Amendment
The 18th amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale, transport, import, or export of alcoholic beverages. It was later repealed by the 21st Amendment on December 5, 1933. -
19th Amendment
The 19th amendment gave women the right to vote. It took 40 years for the senate to agree on this amendment.
