    The Stamp Act was an Act passed by the British Parliament to recover money from the French-Indian War. It taxed non-necessities that many people used and bought. This act enraged many Americans.

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord started with 700 Red Coats against 77 militiamen. After the militiamen retreated outside of Concord they British army went into Concord looking for resources and arms. They started to burn down buildings in the search. The militiamen thinking the British were burning down the entire town attacked them at a bridge and made them retreat. This battle was not asymmetrical.

    The battle of Bunker/Breeds Hill was a battle between the British and American troops. With the Americans being largely outnumbered the British technically won the battle but they had a much larger causality rate then the Americans. This battle was not asymmetrical.

    The Declaration of Independence was the first formal document made by the United States of America that gave them the right to govern themselves. It was written mostly by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams. It was signed on July second 1776 but went into effect on July fourth 1776.

    The battle of Trenton was on 12/26/1776 and Princeton was on 1/3/1777. At the battle of Trenton George Washington sent flanks onto General Ralls exhausted Hessian troops they surrendered. At the battle of Princeton George Washington sent a small group to destroy a bridge that was guarded by the British army there. Then when George Washington showed up he broke through their lines.     The battle of Saratoga was two battles. The battle of Freemans farm was won by the British but the Americans did double the casualties. The battle of Bemis was plain until General Gates army caught wind of the British moving a left flank and surrounded Burgoyne army. This battle persuaded the French to join the Americans. This battle was technically asymmetrical because Washington army caught Burgoyne's left flank by surprise.

    At the battle of Charleston Major General Lincoln gave Lieutenant Henry an unconditional surrender. With the British capturing many soldiers. Cornwallis was left 8,300 troops from Lieutenant Henry and went to South Carlina. South Carolina was split for supporters. The American troops in South Carolina used guerrilla warfare to chase Cornwallis towards Yorktown These battles were asymmetrical.

  • Battle of Yorktowm

    Battle of Yorktowm
    The last battle of the American Revolution where General George Washington surrounded General Cornwallis's army. Washington's army slowly closed in on Cornwallis's army with French Navy hitting the British with artillery after they had stopped a rescue mission for Cornwallis by the British Navy. This battle is considered asymmetrical because the French and Americans pinched the British and used trench warfare.
