Louisiana Purchase
Was when the United States doubled its sized by buying 15 million dollars worth of land. Thomas Jefferson bought it from France. Spain signed a secret treaty with France trying to give them there land back. -
Trail Of Tears
Didn't happen in may just in 1838-1839 but was when Andrew Jackson issued the Indian Removal Act. It forced all the indians tribes east of the Mississippi River to leave there land behind. -
Dred Scott Decision
Dred Scott was not considered a free slave because he was not considered a person under the U.S Constitution. He was living in Illions a free state. They were trying to take him from his owner but in the constitution it states that your propery can not be taken without due of process thru law. -
Lincoln's Election

From 1861-1865 the Civil War was a war to help determine what nation it will be. Was the bloodiest war in history killing over half a million of our own men. Was ended after a four year battle when the South surrendered to the North with The Union winning the war. -

With the Civil War just ending President Lincoln was watching a play in the Presidnets Box. When out of the corner of his eye BANG! he was shot in the back of the head by John Wilkes Booth.
