The Battle of Midway
On June 3, 1942, both the U.S Navy and the Japanese Navy both fought for control of the Pacific. This was mainly fought with air and sea fire power. This would last a total of 5 days ending on June 7. The end results was America destroying most of Japans Naval fleet and some of their best pilots. Japan lost due to America decoding a secret message that they sent. -
The Battle of Stalingrad
One of the biggest and most bloodiest battles, the battle of Stalingrad was fought between Russia and German forces, which resulted in 2 million casualties, from both sides and civilians as well. With both the harsh weather and blockades that Russia set up, almost all German soldiers starved to death, with Russia winning the battle on February 2, 1943. -
North African Campaign
This was a series of wars that begin on Jun 10,1940, and ended on May 16,1943. The price of what was at stake was the Suez Canal, a vital resource for Britain's Empire and oil reserves in the middle east. -
Battle of the Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge, also called the Ardennes Offensive, was a surprise attack by German soldiers on allied forces in the forested Ardennes region in France, Luxembourg, and Belgium. The Goal that Hitler had in mind was to split the allied forces on their way to Germany, so that it would be easier to eliminate them. This was his last effort to try and turn the war in his favor. The battle lasted from December 16, 1944 to January 16, 1945. -

On April of 1945, Roosevelts health takes a turn for the worst and eventually passes on. with only being three months into his third term, Harry Truman steps up and takes the role as president -
America drops the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
On August 6, 1945, America drops Atomic bombs on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hiroshima had an estimate of around 70,000 to 135,000 dead, while Nagasaki had 60,000 to 80,000 dead. The reason why America did was for wanting to bring the war to and end and showing of the fire power to the Soviet Union. -
WW2 comes to an end.
On May 8, 1945, America overcomes Germany, causing them to surrender, with also Hitler committing suicide a week in advance. A few months later, Truman announced that Japan had also surrendered on September of 1945, as well as Italy, thus ending the war with all of the axis powers defeated. -
The Cold War Begins between the U.S. and the Soviet Union
after the defeat of Nazis Germany and the Axis Powers, both America and the Soviet Union both become the two superpower of the world, with both matching in fire power and military prowess. As well as all these things, both also started to develop a rivalry, with both having two different government systems, and both threating the others way of life, thus beginning the Cold war between each other.
