    The Boston Tea Party was a political protest that occupied in protest of the English tax on tea, that was imposed on the Americas without any representation bein given to the Americas in parliament.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    With tensions between the colonists and British officials at an all-time high, Rebels began hiding stores of guns and ammunition outside of Boston. The British tried taking the guns by force. However, word of the raid reached the rebels before the British got there. Rebel militiamen were waiting for the British and fighting broke out between the two sides kicking off the American revolution.

    Invented by Elie Witney the cotton gin changed the production of cotton by greatly speeding up the process of removing seeds from cotton fiber. This leads to an explosion in slavery in the south. And worsened the problem of slavery which was already dying out.

  • The Mexican-American War

    The Mexican American war was a dispute over whether Texas ended at the Nueces River (Mexican claim) or the Rio Grande (US claim). It saw the United States taking a large part of Mexicos territory after they won.

    The Compromise of 1850 delt with the new territory that was added after the Mexican American war.

    In order to preserve the balance in the Senate, the Missouri Compromise allowed Missouri to come into the union as a slave state and Maine as a free state.

    A revolutionary document that declared all slaves were freed in the United States. This changed the purpose of the Civil War and kept European powers from interfering.
  • The Firing on Fort Sumter

    After the southern states succeeded from the Union. They demanded that northern troops leave their forts. When they didn't leave, the Confederacy fired on fort sumpter. After this war was declared and the Civil war began.
  • Surrender at Appomattox Courthouse

    General Lee sundered to General Grant ending the Civil war.
  • Abraham Lincoln’s Assassination

    John Wilkes Booth shot Lincon in the back of the head at Fords Theater.
  • 13th, 14th, 15th Amendments

    Known as the Civil War amendments the 13th abolished slavery. The 14th said that states could not take away citizens' rights. The 15 granted blacks the right to vote.
  • Andrew Johnson’s Impeachment

    Andrew Johnson was impeached in 1868 for high crims and misdemeanors.
