But there was a problem, there were so many English men and women. At first it was only a few newcomers, but soon there were so many they started to put the natives off the land. -
The Voyage of the May-flower
it was a terrible voyage taking 66 days. It was a small ship, wet and foul. food runs out and there is only moldy and hard bread. Only one person dies. A baby was born, Oceanus Hopkins. -

When Massasoit died his son Wamsutta became ruler. The English men feared him and sent troops to drag him to Plymouth. They threatened him and acted higher and superior to him. Wamsutta got sick and died on his way home.
Metacom, his brother, was now leader of his people. He believed the English had killed his brother and he wanted revenge. -

Both sides were brutal. Six hundred colonists lost their lives and three thousand Indians lost theirs. Many innocent people were killed. Metacom was trapped in a swamp and killed. -

Parliament appointed Matthew Hopkins as a witch hunter. He found a lot of witches. more than 100 people were tried as witches. 20 people and 2 dogs were put to death. all the people killed were innocent. the witch trials is a shameful chapter in history. -
