    This is document signed by King Charles in England. This required that instead of the King making all the laws, parliaments approval also be obtained too. It also established that the government couldn't unlawfully imprison people.

    This document protection from cruel and unusual punishment and guaranteed free speech.
  • First Continental Congress

    Repealed intolerable acts and boycotted British goods. Britain rejected the Declaration and Resolves.

    Established a continental army, wrote the declaration of independence, and assumed the role of independent government.
