This meeting was basically for discussing Europe's post war recognization. -

The goal of the invasion was to capture the entire island, and including the three airfields, and provide staging area for attacks on the Japanese main islands. -

V.J Day, or "Victory over Japan" was when the United States thre Atomic Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and Japan soon then surrendered quickly.This effectivley ended WWII. On Septenber 2, 1945 Japan signed a surrender document ending WWII for sure.
