Segregation of busses crossing the border became illegal
The segration of bussess and public transposrt that crossed border were made illegal this decision was made by the Supreme Court this decision was very important in helping to outlaw segregation. -
Armed Forces Segregation banned
The discrimination of blacks in the US armed froces was banned under the directive of Executive Order 9981 which banned any segregation or racism within the armed forces of the United states. This oder was issued by the president Truman. -
Segregation in schools deemed unconstitutional
The Supreme Court ruled that due to previous events that segreagtion in schools were deemed to be unconstitutional and should be abolished leaving both whites and blacks the right to attend the same school. -
Bus Boycott
Rosa Parks fueled the fire of this boycott by refusing to give up her seat to a white man on a crowded bus that acoording to segregation laws that a black needs to give up their seat to a white person this act started the Montgomery Bus Boycott which lasted a long time and had very good results for the black community. -
Martin Luther King beomes President of SCLC
Martin Luther King is appointed the role of president for the Southern Christain Leadership Conference who were very much involved with many incidents such as the Rosa parks incident which led to the bus boycott. -
Freedom Riders arested
The Freedom Riders challenged the laws of segregation in the south because they did not agree with the Supreme Courts ruling of banning segregation of busses crossing the border so they were arested for this rebellious act. -
Civil Rights Act
The Civil Rights Act which was brought in by the president Kennedy was finally passed in July of 1964 and became a huge milestone that paved the way for a future in America where all are seen as equal and deserve equal rights. -
Malcolm X Assassination
Malcolm X was assassinated during february in 1965 he was assassinated by three members taht represented the nation of Islam hes was assinted because of his hostility towards them and who they represented and the threat that he posed. -
Martin Luther King was assassinated
In April of 1968 the beloved leader of SCLC Martin Luther King was assassinated by supposedly Jame Earl Ray he pleaded as innocent and said he couldnt of Killed Martin Luther King and that Kings death sparked an uprising and even more riots over the loss of a very loved and powerful leader in the fight for freedom. -
James Merdith becomes the Fisrt Black American to Attend Mississipi University
After ages of fighting agaisnt racial discrimination James Meredith becomes the first black to attend the University of Mississipi but after attending and graduating from multiple Universities he finally is given the right to attend.
