Columbus Lands in America
1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue, with the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. At the time, they werent too sure the world was round, there were theories but nobody was 100% sure. Columbus decided to test this theory on a voyage to India, his trip to India was unsuccessful, but he landed in America, now we have a country. -

The Brittish government had taxed almost everything and the colonists were mad. Not because of taxes, but because they were being taxed wothout the proper representation. So what did we do? We Fought! -
The Boston Tea Party
A group of colonists had dressed up as indians and tossed 92,000 pounds of tea into the Boston harbour. That was 340 chests full of tea! -
THE CONSTITUTION!!!
The constitution was written by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine and John Adams. Some little known facts about the constitution: Its the shortest national constitution world wide at 4,400 words. There were only 12 out of the 13 colonies in attendence at the writing of the constitution, Rhode Island was not in attendence. Ben Franklin was the oldest man to sign the constitution at the age of 81! -
Missouri Compromise
Missouri Compromise provided a trade. Maine became a free stateand allowing Missouri to be a slave state keeping the balance of the states, 12 free states and 12 slave states. -

This was when all of the great invesntions were being made, like the cottin gin, the steam boat and the interchangeable parts! The early Americans wanted to be able to mass produce things, to make life easier.
