President Jefferson bought Louisiana from Napoleon of France

Embargo Act

Dec 22, 1807

President Jefferson passed this Act which stopped trade between United States, France, and Great Britain.

War of 1812

This war was caused becasuse the British would take American sailors off their ships and force them into Brtish navy service

Treaty of Ghent

Dec 24, 1814

The Treaty of Ghent ended the war without giving either side any new territory.
