    Prohibiton was supported by women, preachers, and many other people in the communities of America. The 18th Amendment was part of the Volstead Act issued later in 1919. However this wasn't an Amendment that everyone agreed openly about, the result of this was bootlegging to get illegal drinks in some places.

  • United States Rejects Treaty of Versailles and League of Nations

    The United State rejects the League of Nations because they feel this will lead to more World Wars and President Wilson refused to make any changes to how strictly America would follow the charter.

    Almost 80 years after the first fight for womens sufferage began the right for women to vote was granted in the 19th Amendment.

    "Encouraged private consolidation of the railroads and pledge the Interstate Commerce Commission to guarantee their profitability. The new philosophy was not to save the country from the railroads, ..., but to save the railroads for the country"(David M.Kennedy, Lizabeth Choen, Thomas A Bailey) The whole goal of this was to protect and save the railroad from being owned by someone other then the people in the United States.

    Arrested for the murder of a Massachusettes paymaster and his guard. The trail was unfair because of the fact that both the jury selected and the judge were prejudice against them both.
