Allied offensive in the Saar Valley
General Patton's Army was in charge of hitting the west wall, but things didnt go as planned and the weather caused them to go threw and capture Metz. By December they were at the Saar Valley and were met by heavy German Resistance but they pushed past them and calimed the Saar Valley. This was important because the Allies were finally on German Soil. -

The Battle of the Bulge
The Allies were destorying German but every since the Attack on Normandy Hilter had been planing a counterattack. In would come in to affect at the battle of the bulge. Hilter's plan failed and Germany Suffered heavy Caulisties. This helped the Allies gained lost ground on the road to Rhine, This was imporatant because it showed we can stop Axis counterattacks. -

Closing of the Ruhr Pocket
The Allies finally reached the Rhine and have the germans attacked from the north,west,and the south. The Germans tried to retreat to the Rhur Valley. The Allies thought ahead though and also attacked from the back, 325,000 men were captured. This was important because we captured a lot of German troops which gave us and advantage. -

The Battle of Berlin
The Soviet army and been pushing Germany for the entire war. Finally in mid-apirl the got to the German capital Berlin. The tanks were the first ones in the city for the Soviet army followed by 2 weeks of intense fighting by both sides. The battle would continue untill the German Commander wold surrender, there approximately 300,000 casualties for the Soviet army ann the amountGermans casualties is unknown to this day. This was important because this would lead to the Allies winning the war.
