WW1 is known as the great war or the first world war. It cost nearly 10 million military deaths and another 20 million wounded. -
the begaining of the war
WW1 begain with the assasanation of Austria's Archduke, Franz Ferdinand on June 28, 1914. Paun, Tjaden, Muller, Albert and a few others enlist in the army. They wandered if they had made the right choice ny joining. They feel a little unsure but they feel they made the right choice. They also go to see their sick friend Kemmerich. -
Extera rations
Paul and all of the men come back from the from battle. Many men died so they all got a few extra rations. -
The sick
Paul visits Kemmerich again, but hes dying. Paul tries to get the dostors to help him but they need his things for the people who have a better chance of living. Pauls friend dies in his arms and the doctors quickly clear him out and all of his stuff. He gave his good boots to Muller. -
Bombs on the front
The troops launch into their assigned barbed wire fencing mission at the front. All night they are shot at and bombed as they hurried to pit up the wire. They are in deffence mode and are trying to slow the Alliance. -
Shelter with the dead
After the troops finish wireing, they try heading back to camp but are bombed on the way back. The men take shelter in a grave yard where they hide in coffins. -
Back at base
The men finally make it back to base where tey get rations of food. They talk about what they all could be missing out on. -
Himmelstoss gets drunk
