The day Gerda Weissmann is born. -

Great Britain entered into a military alliance with Poland, on August 25, 1939.

Poland is invaded by Germany
Gerda is 15 at the time. -
Poland is taking over by germany

German infantry cautiously advance on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland on September 16, 1939.

Arthur and the other boys are taken by the Nazi's to fight in the war.

Gerda meets Abek Feigenblatt at a jewish camp for young men and he is madly in love with her.
He falls madly in love with her and propses to her later on in the beook but she says no. -
The Weissmann family is forced to move from their haouse to a Nazi gehtto.
They are forced to move to a gehtto and out of their basement and to take some of their stuff after they sold most of it to live in their basement. -
They had to sign up for jobs in the ghetto.
If they refused or didnt sign up they were sent to Auschwitz. -
All girls are split up and they are made to go to 2 other camps.

Gerda is moved to Sosnowitz where she meets the rest of abeks family.
She is forced to move out of the gehtto and to a new place called Sosnowitz where Abek's family wants to keep her there ad help her but she refuses. -
Gerda and her mom are made to go and be split apart and Gerda goes to a work camp with her friend Isle.

Gerda is moved to Mazdorf which is a harder work camp.
The whole camp is split and forced to move camps. -
Gerda and Isle were transferd again they couldn't stand the camp.
The worker that Gerda said no to keeps volunteering her to work day and night and got no sleep and no food for about 2 weeks. Isle saves herself and Gerda ad has them both tranfered again. -
Gerda realizes that there is a new camp beside them and hears Abek is in there to be closer to her.
She is guilt-ridden when she finds out he did all this just to be closer to her and she doesnt love him back. -
the girls find out that they are to be transferred again. Ilse and Gerda continue to mourn the loss of their families but still have hope for their own survival.

They hear that Germany is failing and is being invaded by allies and 4000 more girls join them in the camp.

Gerda feels bad that Abek moved to that camp and she volunteers to go to their camo and do laundry and help clean them.

More than 4000 young women are forced onto a 300 mile death march along with Gerda to another concentration camp only 125 girls survive.

The girls that survived the walk are locked in a building and left to die with a bomb outside.
The bomb deos not go off and they are saved and taken to be healed. -
The girls they found are taken to a make-shift hospital by redcross.

They arive at the concentration camp and 4000 girls started the death walk only 120 survived.

A guy named Kurt Klein has been visiting her for a while and they become a couple.

They are forced to walk again and Isle is getting weeker and she soon dies.

Kurt is forced to go back to America and asks Gerda to go with him and she does and they are happy and togethyer to this day.
