Relationship with Don Carlos
Don Carlos was the son of Philip II's first wife, Princess Maria of Portugal. They did not have a close relationship and Philip II's third wife was supposed to be Don Carlos's wife. Don Carlos wanted to leave Spain and Philip II locked him up. Don Carlos starved himself in protest and died. -
