He was a life-long student who sought to fuse science and philosophy into an educational religion of some sort. He believed that creativity was the ultimate reality, and that God was the highest manifestation of the absolute. Using this logic he determined that if God was the creator, then creativity is the superior motivation of experience. -
Alfred North White is born in England in 1861
Alfred North White was a philosopher, physicist, theologian, and mathematician — who dabbled on the edge of reality while also being well versed in the mechanics of the perception of the physical world. Born on February 15th, 1861 in England, White would become one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century. -
Early Beginnings
White began teaching at Trinity College in 1884, where he would teach for 25 years (Irvine). During these years his main focus and concentration was in the fields of mathematics and logic. -
Influence and Collaboration
Philosopher Bertrand Russell began attending the school in 1890 where he met White. The two would be frequent collaborators on several projects. -
Principia Mathematica
Alfred North White co-authored three volumes of the book “Principia Mathematica” with his student, Bertrand Russell. Utilizing over ten years of research these volumes were released in 1910, 1912, and 1913 (Irvine). -
Post-retirement | Path towards Metaphysics
