Alexander Hamilton Dies
At 2:00 in the afternoon that he was shot, Alexander died. He was surrounded by his loving wife and seven remaining children. He died in the Bayard Mansion and the world went silent. New York held a grand parade for his funeral and celebrated his strengths and weaknesses at his funeral. -

On January 11, 1755 Rachel Fawcett Lavien (30) had a baby with James Hamilton (37) named Alexander Hamilton. She was already married, but left her husband for James. Together they had two children, Alexander and his older brother James. -

Alexander Hamilton wanted to be the best of the best, the smartest of the smartest. He proved to do this when Washington appointed him the first ever Secretary of Treasury. From there Hamilton established the first ever federal bank and worked to quiet rebellions. -

Alexander Hamilton was a complicated man. When a young woman, Maria Reynolds, asked for his help, she was actually seducing him. Her husband found out that the two were meeting and committing adultery. James Reynolds, the husband, made Hamilton pay over $1000 to keep the affair silent. Hamilton agreed, but only to keep his family together. -
Hamilton's Bank is Established
The same year that Hamilton had an affair with Maria Reynolds, he established the first ever federal bank. It took a lot of convincing to get the delegates to support a national bank and only Alexander Hamilton could convince enough delegates. -
Hamilton's Affair Gets Explained
After James Monroe released the letters that were exchanged between Hamilton and James Reynolds, Hamilton released the Reynolds Pamphlet. This pamphlet told the public exactly what happened in the affair and also apologized for it. He was a man of honor, but his honor was damaged with this affair, so he released this pamphlet not only to explain himself, but regain his honor. -
Alexander is Shot
7 years before Philip Alexander died in a duel in New Jersey. When Alexander Hamilton hurt Aaron Burr's pride, it began a dangerous duel. This duel was also held in New Jersey because dueling was illegal in New York. The same spot where his son was killed, so was Hamilton. Burr even shot him with a gun from the same collection.
