The Battles of Lexington and Concord
Lexington and Concord were the first military engagements of the American Revolution. Lexington and Concord are both located in Middlesex County, Province Massachusetts Bay. Paul Revere was famous for his ride warning nearby villages and towns warning them that the British were coming. The Colonists were defeated badly and the British had claimed their first victory of the American Revolution. -
The Battle of Chelsea Creek
The Battle of Chelsea Creek was the second battle in Boston. The battle was engaged in order to weaken the strong British command they had over Boston. This was the first battle that involved Naval Warfare in the American Revolution. The Continental Army claimed this battle as a victory. -
The Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill took place in Charlestown, Boston MA. The Battle of Bunker Hill was put to an end in a British Victory. The British showed a lot of their power they had to offer in this battle by setting up fortifications all around Boston along with the help of the Royal Navy. The Continental Army did not take this loss hard as it was more of a confidence boost. The Continental Army put up a good fight against the British and proved they can fight against the British. -
The Battle of Saratoga (Freeman's Farm)
The Battle of Saratoga was known as the climax of the Revolutionary War. The battle was fought in New York and ended in a British surrender to the Americans. 5,895 Hessian and British soldiers surrendered on October 17, 1777 in nearly a month battle. -
The Battle of Quebec
The Battle of Quebec was a very brutal battle and ended in a heavy loss for the Continental Army. This battle ended the American regime in Canada left them with many casualties. The purpose of the battle was to attract the population of Canada into supporting American Patriotism and aid them in war. Unfortunetly the battle did not end well for the Americans. -

The Battle of Long Island also known as the Battle of Brooklyn took place on Long Island and New York. The British and the Continental Army faught this battle for the control over New York. The Continental lost this battle letting the British take control over Long Island and New York. -
The Battle of White Plains
The Battle of White Plains was a battle part of the New York and New Jersey campaign of the war. This battle leads to the Americans withdrawing to the Deleware River. Around 4,000 men were both engaged in this battle on both sides. This battle led to a British victory and Washington's retreat. -
The Battle of Fort Washington
The Battle of Fort Washington took place in New York. This was a powerful point for the British to take control of this fort near Manhattan island. This battle was another British victory. This was knwon to be one of the worst Patriot defeats in the war. -
The Battle of Trenton
This battle took place in Trenton, New Jersey the morning of December 26 the day after Christmas. This was known as a pivotal change in the war as this was the plan of General Washington and his infamous attack on Christmas as the Continental Army crossed the Delaware River in the freezing weather. The Americans defeated the Britsh and Hessian soldiers within this battle and ended up as an American victory. This gave the Patriots a boost of moral and momentumm after this battle. -
The Battle of Princeton
The Battle of Princeton took place near Princeton, New Jersey. General Lord Cornwallis of Britan left 1,400 soldiers to fight this battle. After the battle of Trenton this was another Patriot victory put in the books at the end of this battle. -
The Siege of Fort Ticonderoga
Located on Lake Champlain in New York Fort Ticonderoga served as a checkpoint to Canada and the Hudson River Valley. The Continental Army surprise attacked the British and captured the fort. This is the first victory of the Continentl Army. This served as a moral boost for the Continental Army and supplied them with well supplied amount of artillery for future battles to come. -
The Battle of Oriskany
The Battle of Oriskany took place in New York. The battle of Oriskany is known to be one of the bloodiest battles that were fought in the Revolution. This battle ended in an American victory with the help of strategic tactics with the help of Native American Tribes who fought in this battle along with Americans. -
The Battle of Bennington
The Battle of Bennington was fought around 10 miles out from Bennington, Vermont. This battle was the turning point of the Revolutionary War in favor of the Americans as it ended in an American victory. The Americans had defeated the remnants of General Burgoyne British Army. -
The Battle of Brandywine
The Battle of Brandywine was the battle against General George Washington and General Sir William Howe of Britain. The battle was fought in Pennsylvania and ended in a British victory. This lead Washington and his army to Philadelphia. -
The Battle of Germantown
The Battle of Germantown was a battle fought in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The British had followed Washington into Philadelphia and beat the Patriots in this battle. Although the British had won this battle the Patriots were not done yet. -
The Battle of Saratoga (Bemis Heights)
The Battle of Bemis Heights was the second battle of Saratoga as the Patriots surrounded Burgoyne's remaining army ending as a British surrender. Again the battle of Saratoga was a crucial turning point of the Revolution. -

The Battle of Monmouth took place in Monmouth, New Jersey. General Washington leads the Patriots into battle to the Brtish after they had left the Monmouth Court House. The Battle ended in a draw between the two sides. The story and well-known name Molly Pitcher occured in this battle. -
The Capture of Savannah
The Capture of Savannah, Georgia was a British invasion against the Patriot Militia and Continental Army units stationed in Savannah. The British had accomplished the capture of Savannah lead by Lietenant Colnel Archibald Campell. -
The Siege of Charlseton
The Siege of Charleston was a major battle fought later in the war. Charleston is located in South Carolina and the Americans needed to focus on control of the Southern Colonies. The British had won this battle in a city surrender. -
The Battle of Camden
The Battle of Camden took place in Camden, South Carolina. The southern theatre had mostly been dominated by the British at this point in the war. The British had won this major battle. A Patriot General named Horatio Gates had marched his army into South Carolina with the intent of liberating Camden. -
The Battle of King's Mountain
The Battle of King's Mountain in South Carolina was an engagement between the two Patriot and Loyalist militias in King's Mountain, South Carolina. The battle had incorporated suicidal charges but ended in a Patriot Victory. -

The Battle of Cowpens located near Cowpens South Carolina was a battle led by General Daniel Morgan for the Patriot Army led them into battle. The Americans inflicted heavy casualties to the British Army. This ended in a Patrot victory and the turning point in the Southern Campaign. -
The Battle of Guilford Courthouse
The Battle of Guilford Courthouse located in North Carolina. Both sides had withdrawed but the British led by general Cornwallis had given up on the Campaign for the Carolinas due to significant losses. The British we heading toward Yorktown Virginia. -
The Battle of Eutaw Springs
The Battle of Eutaw Springs in South Carolina was the last conflict in the Carolinas. Both sides had claimed victory in this battle leading up to the last battle of the Revolutionary War known as the Battle of Yorktown. -
The Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown is the last battle of the American Revolutionary War. The Battle of Yorktown Virginia led by General George Washington and French General Comte de Rochambeau. Washington and Rochambeau had captured two British defenses leading to the surrender by Lord General Cornwallis. Cornwallis and 9,000 British soldiers had surrendered to the Americans. The Patriots are now known as the Americans and are free from British rule.
